  • Zoos are popular tourist destinations that appeal to our inner child. You may revisit your childhood at places like Zoo Teruntum in Kuantan, Pahang, now that we can freely move around and stretch our legs again.

  • The town's family-friendly attraction is this miniature zoo. Children can engage with a variety of animals here, and there is also a dinosaur exhibition with over 30 life-size models. At the zoo, there is also a Hobbit House for added family amusement.

2. Hobbit House

The tiny Shire-style house at the zoo is a replica of the famous film series' original Hobbit House. It is concealed by a mossy ceiling and flower bushes and has a grassy staircase leading to its porthole-shaped front door. Visitors will love snapping pictures against this distinctive backdrop and pretending they are in a mythical setting.

  • Due to its crystal-clear seas and fine white sand beach, Teluk Cempedak Beach is a well-liked tourist destination. Although the beach is only a short distance away, it is ideal for swimming, tanning, and water sports like jet skiing and banana boat rides.

  • Along the beach, there are several food and gift stalls where tourists may buy regional specialties and gifts. For a comfortable beach day, visitors can also hire beach chairs and umbrellas.

  • Teluk Cempedak Beach has a magnificent backdrop of rolling hills covered in greenery and rocky outcrops. Additionally, the area has several hiking paths and viewpoint sites that provide expansive views of the beach and its surroundings.

5. Rainbow Waterfall

In the Peninsular Malaysian village of Sungei Lembing, 45 kilometers northwest of Kuantan, are the Rainbow Waterfalls. At the main waterfalls, a stunning rainbow can be observed when the weather is right. The rainbow results from the sun's light hitting the mist of the waterfall at the proper angle.

  • The first part of the trip involves crossing a river, which, depending on the season, might be as high as your waist. The journey then continues into the forest and along the river's edge on rocks. Please be aware that some of the trail's rocks might be fairly slick. The main waterfalls may be reached in about an hour.

  • The sun and the waterfall mist will determine your chance of witnessing the rainbow. There are moments when hikers can see a gorgeous complete rainbow, and there are other times when they can only see water.

How To Get There?

  • You must first travel to the well-connected Kuantan bus terminal to take public transit to Sungai Lembing.

  • A local bus number 48 will pass by Sungai Lembing at a bus stop close to the Kuantan bus terminal. The sole gas station is where passengers can board bus 48 at Sungai Lembing. Currently unknown are the bus's frequency and timing.

  • From the Kuantan bus terminal, you can also hire a cab to take you to Sugnei Lembing.

  • A 188-meter tower called Kuantan 188, formerly known as Menara Teruntum, adorns the center of Kuantan, Pahang. The second-tallest tower in Malaysia, behind Menara Kuala Lumpur, is Kuantan 188, which is also the tallest structure along the East Coast. Kuantan 188 was certified as a legitimate member of the World Federation of Great Towers on February 21, 2022.

  • The tower has a parking lot, a riverside park, a playground, an outdoor sky deck, an observation platform, a viewing deck, and an outdoor park. Visit this landmark tower for the only 360-degree perspective of Kuantan City, where visitors can take in the city's skyline and Kuantan River. Adrenaline seekers will love the tower's extreme attractions, like the "Sky Walk," which is comparable to those offered at Macau Tower and Taipei 101.

  • Cherating Beach, one of Peninsular Malaysia's most popular coastline beaches, is situated 45 kilometers north of Kuantan. Before the tourism sector in the adjacent islands of Pulau Perhentian, Pulau Lang Tengah, and Pulau Redang began to grow, it was one of the top destinations for backpackers.

  • This beach is a popular tourist attraction due to its accessibility and the abundance of low-cost, mid-range, and high-end hotels that line its length, even if it cannot be compared to the islands of Redang and Perhentian's white sandy, crystal-clear beaches.

PEKAN

  • A trip to the State Museum is the place to start if you want to understand Pahang's royal past well. The museum, which is situated on Jalan Sultan Ahmad and faces the enormous Pahang River, provides a thorough history of the state and its royal family.

  • It was built by the British government in the late 1920s. The structure has been utilized in a variety of capacities throughout its 124-year existence, including as Sultan Abu Bakar's royal palace, an army barracks for the occupying Japanese army during World War II, and the official residence of a British resident during colonial Malaya. Additionally, it includes a substantial collection of antique Chinese pottery and glass items that have been utilized by Pahang sultans in the past.

  • The second largest natural lake in Malaysia is Lake Chini, also known as Tasik Chini. It is located around 100 kilometers from Kuantan and spans 12,565 acres of beautiful tropical forest.

  • This wonderful lake, which is located on the right bank of the Pahang River, has a large, quiet environment, limitless and alluring visual beauty, and hides a mystery beneath its placid waters.

  • The picturesque lake is a network of 12 connected bodies of water that the locals refer to as "Laut" (sea). It is a generous repository of natural resources. There are 300 species of non-aquatic animals and 138 species of territorial flora in the area, which is rich in ecological resources. 144 species of freshwater fish and an abundance of aquatic flora also call the water system home.

  • Malaysia's Loch Ness is the enigmatic Tasik Chini. According to legend, the lake was once home to a former Khmer city that is now fully submerged and protected by mythical creatures.

4. Black Water Jewel

  • Although Pahang's mountains and rainforests are very well-liked tourist destinations, many people might not be aware that the state also boasts gorgeous and biodiverse peat swamp forests covering more than 160,000 hectares! More than 200 bird species, including eight species of hornbills, and 53 species of animals call it home.

  • In Pekan, along the Bebar River, there is one of the noteworthy peat swamp woods. Although it is designated as a conservation area, it has recently received marketing attention as a travel destination. Due to its dark brown or black waters—a natural coloration brought on by the high quantity of organic matter—and the fact that it serves as the home to a wide variety of species, it is known as the Black Water Jewel.

The reserve forest was formed in 1985 and is situated approximately 2 km from Maran Town and 50 km from Temerloh. Because of its well-known waterfall and the cleared forest, it is a popular tourist destination. Every month, there are about 1,000 visitors, mostly during the weekends and school breaks. Roads, huts, benches, public restrooms, changing rooms, bridges, dams, and repairs are just a few of the amenities offered. Additionally, efforts have been made to plant several tree species as part of a beautifying initiative.

  • The hill had been there for millions of years, and the locals claimed that there had once been a quarry there. The Paya Gunung Tower A and Paya Gunung Tower B are the two different summits that make up the Kampung Paya Gunung Pinnacle, a free-standing monolith. The main peak can only be reached via a multi-pitch climb or Via Ferrata, while the second peak can only be reached via a different Via Ferrata path.

2. Kota Gelanggi Pahang The Kota Gelanggi Cave is a fascinating location to explore. The state of Pahang's Jerantut District is where this cave is situated. There are several caverns in this heritage park, Kota Gelanggi Cave, including Tongkat Cave, Wind Cave, Batu Sanding Cave, Kota Balai Cave, Turtle Cave, and Bat Cave. When you arrive, you will see a gate-shaped grotto with a stream of cool, pure water inside.

LIPIS

Lipis, located in Pahang, Malaysia, is a district that offers a glimpse into the rich history and natural beauty of the region. Located in Lubuk Tenor, Sungai Tahan, Taman Negara is the Kelah Sanctuary. It has a center for kelah fish study and conservation, also known as Malaysian mahseer. Enjoy watching the kelah's quick reactions as feed pellets are placed onto the water. Due to the flavor of its flesh, the kelah is referred to as the king of freshwater fish or the river king. When cooked, even its scales are delectable. A kilo of kelah costs several hundred ringgit, and the fish is incredibly pricey. Tourists can travel to Lubuk Tenor by traveling upstream for 15 to 20 minutes from Kuala Tahan jetty. Other than swimming, the main activities are playing and feeding Kelah. At Lubuk Tenor and along Sungai Tahan, angling is prohibited. During the dry season, you can see kelah fry swimming in the clear waters of schools.

Grey mining heaps, lush trees, and a short walking path surround the isolated Blue Lake. The lake itself is encircled by the same vegetation. It is so calm and lovely. Since Tasik Biru was previously the location of the historic Bukit Ibam Mine, it is believed that the water produced by the procedure will mirror the high concentration of copper sulfate in it. Therefore, even though the water looks to be an excellent shade of blue and you might be tempted to swim in it, the beautiful Blue Lake is a process known as natural degradation.
